The South African Wedding Guide

The pink and green colour combo always seems to creep back on to the list of popular colour choices. According to Michelle Mospens it has once again found a spot as one of the leading colour palettes of 2011.

Many girls adore pink, but when it comes to your wedding, your groom may feel a little uncomfortable with this “girly” choice. Adding an accent colour, such as green, will make him feel a lot more at ease. Summertime weddings benefit from this refreshing colour combination, especially when held outdoors.

Always be careful when pairing two bright colours. Incorporate white and use different hues and shades of the two colours to tone it down.

Nifty ideas to incorporate this colour combo

  • When choosing your bridesmaids dresses, use either colour. Try to not combine both colours in the dresses as it might end up looking too bright. Instead incorporate the alternative colour into their flowers if you wish.
  • Serve pink cocktails with green lime slices.
  • Apples are always a great way of incorporating green into your wedding. Be sure to squeeze lemon juice on the exposed flesh to keep them from turning brown.
  • Having a candy buffet is also a great way of incorporating both colours. Use white packets or take-away boxes for the guests to put their candy in.

Flowers for this colour combo

  • Bright Pink Gerbera’s
  • Stargazer Lillies
  • Cerise pink Roses
  • Peonies
