FullCircle Photography sent us this beautiful engagement shoot and we were so delighted with it we thought we'd share it with all of you.

With their clever use of apples, typewriters and the old school picnic setup, they really did a fantastic job with this shoot and by the looks of it the couple had a blast as well.

Beautiful photoshoot FullCircle Photography, keep the shoots coming.

When I first came across the novel idea of having a picnic reception, I wasn't quite sure many couples would opt for this untraditional style of entertaining, but I was pleasently surprised. With this being an incredible cost saver, couples have opted to have a full on wedding picnic reception, or incorporated this idea in their wedding "cocktail hour" - normally the hour in which the guests are entertained whilst the couple have photo's taken.

Either have individual picnic baskets/boxes made for your guests or have a buffet table where the guests can help themselves to some snacks.

If you are thinking of making many things yourself or wanting to personalise plenty of items at your wedding, then this is also the route to go. If you don't fancy having everything picnic style, then incorporate only certain aspects to give it the same feel.

Have some blankets or scatter cushions on the grass and put up a few parasols for some additional shade if need be. You can even go as far as providing outside entertainment for the guests such as croquet.

At the beautiful Mentorskraal in Jeffrey's Bay, Carika & C.J tied the knot on 5 February 2011. With a scorching 39 degrees on their wedding day, the rain that poured down during the ceremony was a true blessing from God, believed the couple. As soon as they were married the rain stopped and they were able to have a beautiful "feather shower" by their guests.

Carika describes the walk down the aisle on the wedding march and seeing her soon to be husband for the first time as one of her most memorable moments. During the exchanging of the rings, Carika was suprised by C.J with an EXTRA wedding band she had no idea she was getting.

ATTIRE

Johan Wolmerans designed Carika's beautiful white fairytale gown. Given to her as a gift by Johan on the day, it had a crystal embellished bodice fitted to the hips with the gown clocking out at the bottom. Theano Zenios did Carika's make-up and Jolandi from Images 1 Hair Studio finished off her look with a beautiful soft curl hairdo. Carika bought her shoes from Catherines Bridal Accessories based in Port Elizabeth.

The guys all wore suits from Heinz in Style.

DETAILS

With the reception also held at Mentorskraal, they had a large open space to decorate. Jeanette from the Flower and Gift Shop was responsible for the beautiful floral centerpieces whilst the rest of the decor was provided by Angelic Wonders.

With a fresh colour scheme of white and apple green, the centerpieces consisted of tree branches decorated with crystals and floral bunches of ferns, roses and white daisies. Fresh appes were used as name tags for the guests. The invitations were supplied by Mr Wedding Card. Debbie Louw captured each moment on video and DJ Paul made sure the guests were kept dancing.

THE CAKE

Ralph from The Pastryworks made a jaw-dropping 4 tiered Amarula chocolate mousse wedding cake which was held together with slabs of white chocolate. The bottom of the cake was decorated with a broad green ribbon and finished off with white roses.

DIY BRIDE

Carika made mirror gift boxes which were given to the guests as favours, she also made the crystals that hung from the centerpieces as well as the butterfly clips for the nametags on the apples.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Cherie Theron captured every memorable moment on Carika and C.J's wedding day.

HONEYMOON

After the wedding the couple enjoyed their honeymoon on board the MSC Meloday to the island of Mauritius, Madagascar and Reunion.

ADVICE

Words of wisdom from Carika: "Enjoy every moment, always include your fiancee in decisions, take it all in and have YOUR moment....."
