The South African Wedding Guide

This beautiful 1940's inspired wedding theme would be the perfect accompiment to a morning or tea time wedding. With subtle hues and pastel colours nothing is overpowered yet compliments each other.

With so many simple ideas that can be used, you can definitely save on the budget too and try and do some of the things yourself. I love how an ordinary wooden peg, a coca cola glass bottle as well as a wooden dart board can be used and adds to the wonderful simplistic overall feel.

Serve snacks that are easy to manage with a small sideplate, or even picked up by hand. Snacks that are already packaged will also work well. Stick to soft colours if you want the "tea time" feel and use flowers that are feminine and soft.

By using watering cans, old tin cans and even glass bottles you'll have many choices to use when it comes to finding containers to put your flowers in. Find old wooden frames and even and old weathered ladder could all be used in your decor. I love how this couple also incorporated a type-writer to add to the vintage feel.

FullCircle Photography sent us this beautiful engagement shoot and we were so delighted with it we thought we'd share it with all of you.

With their clever use of apples, typewriters and the old school picnic setup, they really did a fantastic job with this shoot and by the looks of it the couple had a blast as well.

Beautiful photoshoot FullCircle Photography, keep the shoots coming.

Judith Doubell from (Judith Doubell Photography) sent us this gorgeous little DIY with printable lunchbox tags. "I love puns and I love lunch. So this year I decided I will put in some extra effort to pack the punniest lunch box full of quirky and yummy things, perfect to surprise your valentine" says Judith.

This is what you'll need

  • Two ham and cheese sandwiches
  • "Zoo" cookies
  • Mixed nuts or peanuts and raisons
  • Fresh mixed berries in a tub
  • Packet of chewing gum or mints
  • Heart shaped cookie cutter
  • Two sheets of brown cardboard
  • Glue (Prit and Clear Adhesive)
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Prown paper bag or box
  • Labels printed(Download here)

  • Now follow these easy steps:

    STEP ONE

Make the ham and cheese sandwiches. Take the heart shape cookie cutter and press through the sandwich making sure that you press hard enough to cut off all the edges.

STEP TWO

Cut out all the tags and paste it on the brown cardboard. Once it is stuck, make sure you leave about a 1cm border all the way around when you cut out these tags.

STEP THREE

Remove all the current labels from the soda bottle and berry tub. Using the Clear Adhesive or similar strong glue you can now attach the new labels to the products. Use the stapler to add the tag to the packet of nuts.

STEP FOUR

There is one label that you can use for the front of a cute valentine’s card, I pasted it on double the size card board and folded it in half to write a special message inside.

STEP FIVE

Once you’ve added all the new and punny labels you can pack this lunch into individual sandwich bags and then into the box or brown paper bag. Today it is yet another scorching hot day, so I packed the lunch into a small cooler bag and sent my hubby off to work.
