The South African Wedding Guide

We love how easy it can be to do your own simple yet effective table decorations. Follow the easy DIY steps below to create some fabulous wedding centerpieces for the tables.

This is what you’ll need:

  • Green Wine Bottles
  • Adhesive Remover
  • Wine Corks
  • Floral Wire
  • Satin or Organza Ribbon (Colour of your choice)
  • Scissors
  • Floral Knife

Now follow these easy steps:

STEP ONE

Remove the labels from the wine bottles. Leave the empty wine bottles in hot water overnight, this will ease the process of removing them.

STEP TWO

Tie the ribbon around the bottle and end it off with a neat bow. If you don't like the idea of having bows, then you can let it hang lose as well.

STEP THREE

Using a sharp needle, make a tiny hole in the centre of the wine cork, just enough so you can push the florist wire through it easily.

STEP FOUR

Cut the flowers you would like to use at an angle, and before inserting these into the bottles, add some water.

And that's as easy as it gets.

You can find inspiration all over the internet, and these were some of the unique ideas we came across that will not only help you make your wedding day extra special, but also little easier.

Not only does having eco friendy favours or centerpieces show you care, but it also adds colourful touches and delightful smells to your table settings

Incorporate a personalised stamp in your wedding stationery, cheap, easy and oh so beautiful

If you have little ones participating in the wedding ceremony, give them easy to handle tasks so not to stress them out too much.

Finally we have a solution to those tricky heels spiking through the grass. Ask your wedding planner to put down some concrete blocks or tiles on the spot where you want your bridesmaids to stand. This will make the stand "on the grass" so much easier for them.

Combining orange with white simply makes a statement. We love the freshness it brings and how easy it is to incorporate this colour scheme into your wedding.

These beautiful orange dresses for the bridesmaids, paired with white bouquets works so well. Dressing your man in grey is also an alternative option to the traditional black suit. Use mini oranges for seating tags to be extra quirky.

Getting your shoes dyed the colour of your wedding is the in thing, and photographers love playing around with this idea as well.

Getting your decor together in this colour scheme should also prove to be easy with many different flower options available.

Flowers such as roses, gerbera's, poppies and tulips are just but a few of the choices available.
