If your thinking was to incorporate feathers into your wedding, then using touches of them here and there will be far more effecting than overwhelming your look with it. Start off by adding either touches of feathers to your wedding dress, or alternatively some to your wedding shoes. If you haven't decided on either of these, then why not add some to your bouquet?

Another option could be to use feathers in your hair accessories. These always make for beautiful elegent wedding photo's and you'll definitely make a statement.

Feather center pieces are not the number one choice for most brides as opposed to flowers, however, it could be a huge budget slasher if need be. Simply add a couple of ostrich feathers to a tall centerpiece and you're well on your way to an extravagant look. I also love the idea of combining feathers with beautiful glass beads for that extra sparkle.

There's a very fine line between classy and kitch when it comes to using crystals as part of your wedding day decor. A word of caution would be, if it looks like you've gone "OTT" (Over the Top) then you probably have. Less is more in this case.

Hanging strands of crystals outside combined with some flowers from tree branches could jazz up an outside area. Similar thing when using crystals inside. Hang some from candelabras or even your cake stand.

A popular way to include crystals in your wedding would be the crystal tree. It's simply a miniature tree adorned with hanging crystals and sometimes combined with flowers too. This tree can either be used as a centerpiece or on the gift table. Some brides have used it as a "wishing tree" whereby guests can hang tags from the crystal branches with well wishes to the couple.

Anneke and Warwick tied the knot on Saturday, 27 November 2010 at the Sionsrand Dutch Reformed Church in Port Elizabeth.

Although they stuck to a traditional ceremony, the couple both agree that it was extremely special.

ATTIRE

Claire from Bridal Flair ensure that Anneke felt like a princess in her beautiful traditional white gown. With layers of organza the skirt part of the dress was adorned with crystals and pulled up slightly to the side of the waist with white satin. The boob tube bodice was tastefully decorated with diamante's, crystals as well as a hint of embroidery.

Anneke's gran whom passed away a couple of years ago made each of her granddaughters a white garter. This garter was given to Anneke when she turned 13 and she wore it on her special day in memory of her gran.

Estelle Cunningham did Anneke's make-up and her hair was done by Louisa and Leo from Couture.

Warwick and his groomsmen wore suits from Hire Society.

DETAILS

The reception was held at "The Manor" in Sardinia Bay, Port Elizabeth. The French styled villa lent itself to not needing any draping and has big wooden doors that could be opened up to let light fill the space. Lynley from Floral Creations was responsible for the beautiful Casablanca Lily floral center pieces while Designer Decor supplied all the hired items. With a "funky yet elegent" wedding theme, the venue was decorated with polkadots in black, lime green and touches of silver. Lots of crystals and mirrors were also incorporated to set the mood for the wedding of their dreams.

Salvelio recorded the whole occasion to ensure the couple have the chance to watch it over and over again.

Triple M Music made sure that the guests had a fun time on the dancefloor.

Papermaster printed most of the couple's beautiful wedding stationery.

On their wedding day the bride was transported in a black hummer and after the ceremony the couple enjoyed driving around in this car whilst having photographs take.

THE CAKE

House of Bakes baked the beautiful wedding cake. With two tiers chocolate and 2 tiers lemon poppy flavour, there was a piece of cake to suit most of the guests taste. The top tier was white with black and green stripes, completed with a green rose and black feather. The second tier was white with a copied image of our candle holders. The third tier was the main attraction covered in lime green with black polka dots. The fourth tier was white, finished off with black and lime green satin ribbon.

DIY BRIDE

Together with the help of her bridesmaids, Anneke hung crystals from the roof of the venue with green and black polka dot ribbon. She also had gift boxes sprayed black and each guest received a personalised shot glass with the couples name and wedding date.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Cherie Theron took the most amazing photographs of Anneke and Warwick's special day.

HONEYMOON

After the wedding the couple enjoyed their honeymoon at the beautiful Blue Horizon Guest House in Gordons Bay

ADVICE

Words of wisdom from Anneke: "Know what you and your fiancé want, and don’t opt for anything else. It is your day, so it should be your way! Don’t’ spend all your time on wedding talk, limit it to once/twice a week (except for when it gets to the last weeks before the wedding) Choose your bridesmaids wisely! Get enough rest and take vitimans….don’t forget to enjoy the planning and all the friendships you make along the way….have fun x 1000000!!"
