Reece Witherspoon marries Jim Toth

Married: 26 March 2011

Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth were married on Saturday evening at her ranch in Ojai, California.  The rustic farm style wedding was planned by Yifat Oren and took place under a canopy in the front yard of the house. Reese, who has just turned 35, wore a custom wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier.

It is the first marriage for Toth and the second for Witherspoon who was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe.

The Setting

The wedding was held at Witherspoon’s $7 million ranch. The property has plenty of room for her family and rolling fields for her kids to run around in.

The ranch is located in Ojai, a charming artist’s town 90 minutes north of Los Angeles where many VIPs have secluded retreats. Ojai has been the location for the nuptials of many celebs including Dave Annable and Odette Yustman and Kate Walsh and Alex Young.

The Dress

Monique Lhuillier designed the wedding dress for the actress who has been known to wear strapless gowns on the red carpet that accentuate her small waist.

The Shoes

Reese Witherspoon picked Jimmy Choo’s “Macy” satin platform sandals for her weekend wedding to Jim Toth. Available at JimmyChoo.com, the shoes retail for $645 and are a best-seller combining glamour and comfort. They have an elegant silk satin platform, delicate ankle strap and 4 inch heel.

Wedding Style

Yifat Oren co-ordinated the wedding which incorporated many natural elements that tied in the beauty of the ranch. Oren is also responsible for planning the wedding of Charlie Sheen.

Guest list

Some of Reese’s closest celeb pals and former co-stars were among the 120 guests, including Scarlett Johansson and her new beau Sean Penn, Renee Zellweger, Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer, Robert Downey Jr., Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves, Alyssa Milano, Colin Hanks, Isla Fisher and her hubby Sacha Baron Cohen. Reese’s two kids Ava, 11 and Deacon, 7 were also supporting their mom. As expected, their dad, Reese’s ex, Ryan Phillippe, was a no-show for the nuptials.

The Engagement

Toth popped the question to the Oscar-winning actress back in December 2010. They started dating in January 2010, shortly after she broke off her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal.

The Rings

The Bridal Party

Her matron of honor was best friend Heather Rosenfield, whose young sons were the ring bearers. Reese’s nieces walked down the aisle as flower girls.

The Music

”Tennessee Waltz” was played for Jim and the kids and then “Here Comes the Bride” for Reeses. The bluegrass band strummed “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” during the service.

The Food and Cake

A cocktail party preceded dinner, a farm-style meal at the ranch where Reese keeps horses, donkeys, pigs and goats. Dinner was served at long tables in a fabric-lined tent behind the house. The LA restaurant Lucques provided endive salad with olives and fava beans; wild striped bass with potatoes, chanterelles and garlic, mustard grilled chicken and herb-roasted lamb with braised artichokes. The wedding cake was by Erica O’Brien, part of a dessert spread that included a s’mores lounge.
