The Secret to Planning Your Own Wedding
Posted: 25 October 2010

Many brides choose to plan their wedding themselves, and even though you can offload this burden by hiring a co-ordinator, there is one big secret to planning a wedding successfully.
So, what’s the secret, you ask? PRIORITISE!
You will find endless checklists on the internet that will ensure you take care of every little detail when it comes to planning your wedding efficiently, but at first glance, this will make the task seem daunting. Have no fear…
The first thing you need to do is have an in-depth look at the checklist and then make a new list, prioritising those items that are most important to you, to the top of this list. (Don’t forget to mark off the items on the original list as you go along). A word of advice – put finding your wedding venue and photographer right at the top! Typically the best venues and photographers are booked out at least a year in advance and therefore securing these two services first will make the rest of your planning much easier.
By securing the above two services first, and prioritising the more important aspects (in your opinion) at the top of your list, you will ensure that those things that are really important to you are taken care of first, leaving a less-stressful task of finalising the remaining services.
