Questions to Ask Your FloristIf you’re nervous about choosing the right florist and want to make sure they’ll be capable of doing a great job with your wedding flowers, then stress no more. We’ve compiled a list of those all-important questions you need to ask your florist before  signing on the dotted line. - Make sure that all the answers are to your satisfaction and that you are comfortable with them, as they’ll play an important part in your big day.


Questions for Your Florist

* What style do you specialize in? - modern, traditional, romantic...
* How long have you been making wedding arrangements?
* Can I pop along to see you set up at your next wedding?
* Can I see a portfolio of your work?
* Do you have testimonials from other brides I can view?
* Can you make suggestions based on my colour scheme?
* Which flowers and arrangements are popular at the moment?
* What bouquet shape would you suggest to suit my dress?
* Can you recommend seasonal flowers to help me save money?
* Which flowers are least likely to wilt in hot weather?
* Can you keep within my budget? What cost-cutting suggestions can you offer?
* What rental items and other decorations do you offer?
* Are you familiar with my ceremony and reception location?
* How many other weddings and events will you do on the same weekend as my event? (this gives you an idea of how much time and attention they'll spend on your wedding flowers)
* Who will be doing the flowers for my wedding?
* Will you be designing the flowers or will it be one of your staff?
* How far in advance will you make my bouquet and centrepieces?
* Will you make a sample bouquet or centrepiece for me to see?
* Will this be an additional charge?
* Will you make a tossing bouquet for me? Is there an additional fee for this?
* Can you provide an aisle runner, candles, candlesticks/holders, trellises, potted plants, etc.?
* Can you tell me how to preserve my bouquet?
* How long do you need to decorate the venue?
* Is it possible to reuse the ceremony flowers as reception decorations? Will you transport them, or will we need to? Is there a transport fee?
* How close to the wedding can I change my order?
* Is Delivery Included? If not, what is the cost?
* Is set-up of the flowers at the ceremony and reception sites included? If not, what is the cost?
* When do I need to give you the final table count for centrepieces and other flower arrangements?
* What time will you return to pick up any rentals?
* How do you charge for your services - a flat fee or per-item fee?
* Will you write up an itemized quote of what we've discussed?
* Are there any other additional or hidden costs I should know about?
* How much is the required deposit?
* When is the balance due?
* How should payment be made?
